Happy 2025 and welcome back! We thought we'd put together a reminder of all the things you can access from the Students' Union that might've slipped your mind. So, grab a cup of tea and let's get started:
Free Resources
We stock a whole host of resources that you can access for free as Arts University Plymouth students. These include pregnancy tests, foam ear plugs, personal safety alarms, drink stoppers/anti-spiking devices and pronoun badges! If you want to pick up any of the items we've talked about above then drop by the SU Office or email us (studentsunion@aup.ac.uk) to organise a collection time.
Don't forget about the free tampons and condoms outside the SU Office either!
Period Poverty Project
To support the end of period poverty on campus, we ensure that there are period products in all of the toilets across all of our campuses. We keep stock in the SU Office too so you can collect some to take home if needed and we even have sustainable options such as reusable pads and menstrual cups that you can grab for free as well.
Club/Society Lead Drop Ins
Whilst all of AUPSU's clubs and societies are student-led, every month the SU President holds drop ins for all of the leads. These are planned to help them talk through budget requests, event planning and brainstorm ideas or even just let out some steam surrounding any frustrations you're having. If you are a club/society lead and you don't know about these drop ins, please email us so we can make sure you are receiving the invitations on Google Calendar!

Student Union Food Bank
Our food bank is stocked full with food, toiletries and period products for those of you who may need it. There are no forms to fill in in order to access it, just drop us an email so we can make sure someone will be in the SU Office to allow you access, and also to ensure there are sufficient items for you, or book a slot via the QR codes on our office door.
If you would like to donate to the Student Union Food Bank, please email us and drop your donations to the Student Union Office or Tavistock Place Reception.
If you are a current student at AUP, you can also donate your remaining student card credit to our food bank once you graduate! Just fill out this form, it will be automatically done after you've left.
Sitcoms and Cereal
We regularly chuck on some sitcoms and have breakfast together in the SU. You can come and grab some cereal and hang out before classes start. We provide everything including the spoons and bowls - and we have plant based options for milk too! Check out our Events Tab for the latest dates.
Recycling Initiatives
We have a few different recycling units where you can drop off your unwanted items. The first is a bra recycling point in the SU which is in aid of Against Breast Cancer which you can find out more about them here. The second is a vape recycling unit, also located in the SU, and finally we have set up a small pen recycling unit in collaboration with the library which can be found by their front desk!
