Today, we're celebrating BA(Hons) Printed Textile Design and Surface Pattern student, Millica Bishop-Morris, for her amazing fundraising efforts!
She is fundraising for St Elizabeth Hospice in Suffolk, as a thank you and to support the nurses who looked after her granddad when he was diagnosed with cancer. Her granddad sadly passed away the day before she braved the shave, but she thanked the nurses for their care during the pandemic when she could not see him.
Millica launched her fundraising page in mid-January with the goal of raising £200. Throughout the following weeks, she surpassed every goal she set and has now raised over £3,000 and counting! Yesterday she took to Instagram Live, and with over 75 people watching, shaved her head in her granddad memory.
Millica said "I am so overwhelmed with the amount I have raised so far! To think I started my target at £200 and have now raised over £3000 is insane. A massive thank you to anyone who has shared/donated already, it means so much to me and my family!"

Millica's fundraiser is for St Elizabeth Hospice, a charity which improves life for people with a progressive illness through vital care and support. Their work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12.9m, of this 70% comes from the local community, so fundraisers such as Millica's helps them to keep doing their amazing work.
Louise Archer, Community Fundraising and Events Coordinator, said: “Its been wonderful working with Millica on her fundraising journey. Many congratulations to her for raising this fantastic amount! It is great to see the support that Millica has had from family and friends and we would like to thank them all for helping her to achieve this incredible amount to support the hospice’s work.”
